Marbles is one of the oldest games . It may not surprise you to learn that it was already a vey popular game several generations ago, but if we tell you that it was already popular in Ancient Egypt, would you believe us? Moreover, it is known in many countries of different cultures than ours, that is why there are countless versions of the game in which these little ball are the protagonists and, in the eyes of any child, a kind of treasure.

There are many ways to play, but all of them have on thing in common: they are played squatting down, low to the ground, and the marbles must be thrown with one hand, propelled by one the fingers, usually the thumb, the index finger or the middle finger, depending on the player’s preference and skills.

Another basic rule of this game is that players usually bet their marbles, so it is possible that, at the end of the game, you come home with your pockets full of marbles, or with none at all. It doesn’t matter what the result is, because the next day you can play again if you want to.
