Micro Scooters

Lean, scoot, glow 🛴💡

Micro invented the original lean-to-steer kids' scooter, and it's still the one we see on every school run. Swiss designed scooters, ride-ons, balance bikes and helmets with battery-free light-up wheels and replaceable parts, built to go from first birthday to the last day of primary school, and then on to secondary too.

About Micro Scooters

Micro is the Swiss brand that gave the world the original lean-to-steer kids' scooter, and it has been getting little legs moving ever since. Everything Micro makes is Swiss designed and precision engineered, tested over and above the usual standards, and built with replaceable parts, so a Micro can be repaired, revamped and handed down to the next adventurer.

The journey starts with the Micro Mini2Grow Deluxe LED, a clever 4-in-1 that begins as a parent-guided ride-on from 12 months, becomes an independent ride-on from around 18 months, then swaps its tool-free clip-in seat for a handlebar to become a first scooter from 2 years, growing with them up to 6. The iconic Mini Micro Deluxe LED is the classic 3-wheel first scooter for 2 to 5 year olds, and the Mini Micro LED with Recycled Deck has a deck made from fishing nets rescued from the ocean.

Bigger kids move up to the Maxi Micro Deluxe LED, the 3-wheel big sibling built for 5 to 12 year olds who want to go further and faster, also available as the Maxi Micro LED with Recycled Deck. When they're ready for two wheels, the multi-award-winning Micro Sprite LED steers like a bike and folds in one click, with light-up front and back wheels. Choose the shimmery colour-shifting Sprite LED Neochrome or the Micro Recycled Sprite LED with cork grips, recycled plastic and water-based paint.

For first pedal-free rides there's the Micro Balance Bike Lite, with an ultra-light 2.6 kg magnesium frame and puncture-proof tyres. And because happy heads wear helmets, the Micro Plain Helmet, Micro Printed Helmet (in Unicorn, Dino, Mermaid, Vehicle, Blue Safari, Flora & Fauna and Flora-Saur prints) and Micro Eco Helmet all have an LED rear light that doubles as the sizing dial and are tested to EN 1078.

Why we love Micro Scooters

  • Lean-to-steer just makes sense. Little ones simply lean the way they want to go. It's like surfing the pavement, and it builds balance, coordination and core strength without them even noticing.
  • The wheels glow, no batteries needed. The LED wheels are powered by scooting, so there's nothing to charge and lots of sparkle on dark winter school runs.
  • They grow with your child. Height-adjustable handlebars, a 4-in-1 Mini2Grow and a natural step up from Mini to Maxi to Sprite mean one brand covers first birthday to secondary school.
  • Built to last, then last again. Swiss engineering and replaceable parts mean a Micro can be repaired and handed down to a little sibling, not thrown away.
  • Safety they actually want to wear. Micro helmets have a light-up rear sizing dial, an easy-squeeze buckle little fingers can manage, and prints they'll ask to put on.
  • Kinder to the planet. Recycled ocean fishing net decks, cork grips, and Eco Helmets with recycled straps and bamboo padding.

Micro sits right at the heart of our scooters, ride ons, balance bikes and helmets, and you'll find them across our scooters, trikes and ride ons, garden & outdoor toys and back to school picks. A shiny new Micro also makes one of the very best Christmas gifts. You can find out more about the brand at micro-scooters.co.uk.
