Family game nights are the perfect way to spend quality time with your little ones and create lasting memories! Not only are they fabulous fun, but they're also a great way to teach important skills like problem-solving, communication, and strategic thinking. Here are some tips to make your family game night extra special!
Choose the Right Games
When planning your family board game night, it's important to choose games that are appropriate for your children's ages and interests and keep them short unless they are able to concentrate for long periods. A great game for all ages and to start out with is the classic game of "Tic Tac Toe" If you have younger children, we recommend a stacking or memory games such as "The City Domino Game" a matching game that helps children develop their memory and fine motor skills. For those feeling a bit more creative, "Colour Brain Mini" is a super fun game that will get you thinking about all the rainbow colours! And for those who love a good laugh, "Scrawl" is the perfect game to bring out curiously creative in the family.
Do try to fit your games your children personalities, if you have a non stop kid, ensure to keep games short and physical, something like "Klask" or a "Sling Puck Game" game will fit the bill. Or if you have a future rocket scientist in your midst go for something that requires time and focus like "What next"
Remember though the most important this is you all have fun, swap out games through the night so everyone gets a go at something they will enjoy!
Set the Mood
Consider setting the mood with some yummy snacks and cute decorations to make your family board game night extra special. You could set up a popcorn bar with different toppings or make homemade pizza or nachos.
Its not just about winning
Make loosing fun too, teaching a child its not only ok to loose but actually a pretty good thing is super important too. So how about giving prizes for the biggest looser or keep a leader board to pull out each games night.. because we all know you win some you loose some!
